Empty Folder Finder

(Current Version: 4.0.6)

Description

The idea is, that after a hard-day's work cleaning up duplicated files, reorganising network resources, etc you could have lots of folders that are just empty.

And empty folders take up disk space, slow down your machine and cause your file allocation table to be much bigger than it needs to be.

But where are those empty folders?!

Empty Folder Finder searches a drive (or a particular folder branch if required) for all the empty folders and optionally deletes them - of course, there are plenty of options to select so that if there are sub-folders that have files in, it doesn't delete everything below the first empty folder!

Options

Empty Folder Finder has the following options (the defaults are shown).

Note:

The default output folder is your temporary folder.

Once Empty Folder Finder has found the list of empty folders it can optionally save the list to the file specified, so that you can check which folders are empty and take appropriate action. There is even the option for Empty Folder Finder to open the file for you in whatever application is associated with the file's extension: Notepad, Word, PFE, Netscape, whatever!

Feeling lazy?!

In case you have a lot of folders that can just be deleted, then Empty Folder Finder has the option of outputting the folder list to a batch (.bat) file that can be executed to delete all the folders for you - either by yourself, or automatically!

Feeling even more lazy?!

If you've (wisely) told Empty Folder Finder to not delete folders that have sub folders, then it can take a while to delete all the folders in a particular branch, so there is the option to automatically execute the batch file and then re-run until there are no empty folders remaining.

And if the speed at which Empty Folder Finder is running through folders, is too much for you, you can remove the folder display (this can give some slight performance benefits).

Cost
